You can judge Barack Obama by his experience as an executive.

He doesn’t have any.

Or you can judge him by the type of folks who endorse him.

Fidel Castro loves Obama. So does Quadafi. The terrorists over at Hamas are full-blown Obamanicacs, too. And now, it seems that even Kim Jong Il is jumping on the bandwagon.

But, as William Kristol points out in the New York Times, they are nothing compared to the lowest of the low, the boiling lunatics at Moveon.org, who’ve just indulged themselves in a orgy of seething hatred the like of which those tyrants never dreamed of.

Kristol tells us about a new Moveon TV ad that the group is running now in swing states:

A mother speaks as she holds her baby boy: “Hi, John McCain. This is Alex. And he’s my first. So far his talents include trying any new food and chasing after our dog. That, and making my heart pound every time I look at him. And so, John McCain, when you say you would stay in Iraq for 100 years, were you counting on Alex? Because if you were, you can’t have him.”

You have to work hard to list all the shameless lies and smears contained in this short blurb:

(1) When McCain spoke about being in Iraq for 100 years, he specifically said “as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed.” America, as Kristol points out, has had many such long-term military presences, including in Germany and Japan. In a libelous smear, Moveon simply forgets to tell its viewers that part.

(2) America doesn’t have the draft, and John McCain doesn’t support it. So it would be entirely up to Alex whether to serve his country. Apparently, his mother feels she has the right to make that decision for him. Wonder what other decisions Moveon would say parents have the right to make? Can they tell the athiests they “can’t have” their children, and force religion upon them too? How about sexual preference? It’s doubtful the leftists at Moveon would go along with that.

(3) As I’ve previously reported, an avalanche of recent data shows that the America is enjoying considerable success right now in the Iraq conflict. If you compare America’s casualties in this conflict to wars the Democrats started, like Korea and Vietnam, they are totally insignificant. Moveon conveniently fails to tell you that, too.

(4) Unlike Barack Obama, John McCain has actually known the horror of war — and not only of war but of being POW — up close and personal. To suggest he’s a bloodthirsty warmonger is a smear that Obama should be ashamed of, and should immediately condemn. Kristol points to the mother of a solider who is serving now in Iraq, who angrily answers Moveon: “Does that mean that she wants other people’s sons to keep the wolves at bay so that her son can live a life of complete narcissism? What is it she thinks happens in the world? Someone has to stand between our society and danger. If not my son, then who? If not little Alex then someone else will have to stand and deliver. Someone’s son, somewhere.”

Is Moveon suggesting that America shouldn’t have any army? Does it condemn former President Bill Clinton’s use of American forces in the former Yugoslavia? Does it know that it was Clinton who first called for the use of military force against Iraq?

It simply couldn’t be any less consistent with the values and norms Obama claims to support to accept tactical assistance from this band of crazed hatemongering psychopaths. Yet, Obama is silent.
Maybe he’s to busy listing to all those endorsements rolling in, calling to say thanks and asking for donations.

And it could hardly be more inconsistent with the idea that the country overwhelmingly rejects Republicans and loves Obama that his supporters feel the need to engage in such desperate tactics as smears and lies.

Hi Kim, what of the millions of Americans who love Obama. And how do you know that these leaders are the worst creatures on the earth when they are loved by most of their people (Bush is a arguably a greater rogue than any of these). As for the ad- what it represents is the pain of a mother in sending her son for a causeless and baseless war. And again Obama had nothing to do with this ad whatsoever.

How do you know Obama had nothing to do with the ad? Aren’t you jumping to baseless conclusions? Has he condemned it?

Millions of Americans love being fat ad watching TV. Millions support the war in Iraq. Does that mean it’s a good thing?

Shouldn’t he have been president for at least one day before you say that?

Many thought JFK was a superhero. Then he started the Vietnam war (much worse than Iraq) and invaded Cuba. History does not smile on emotional judgment such as you are making.

Vietnam was a conflict, not a war. I never said JFK was a superhero. And superheroism has nothing to do with being president. Superman was never president and he’s a superhero.

Why was Vietnam worse than Iraq? Fewer US citizens have died so far? Or is it better to kill Iraqis than Vietnamese? People killing each other = bad. How can you even compare something like that?

Care to explain why Obama is a superhero and JFK is not? Is it just because JFK actually has a record to judge, whilst Obama has nothing but your imaginings?

You are evasive as ever. Instead of answering my questions you change the subject and put words in my mouth (or hands, as it were). Too bad you aren’t better at your rhetoric or you could work for the Bush administration.

I never said JFK wasn’t a superhero and I never said he was. I remain Switzerland like on the issue. And, although I do have a wonderful imagination (for instance I imagine you look like a drag queen Dick Cheney without cloaking the devil horns), I’m not imagining that Obama will be a good president. He is a senator and he’s done a few things so far. Look it up, it’ll give you some practice.

Also, learn to lighten up and take a joke. I’ll get rid or some of those wrinkles, I’ll bet.

U.S. casualties in Iraq to date are 3,371. In Vietnam, they were 47,424.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_casualties_of_war

Any educated person knows that fact. Why do you need to ask me? How dare you attempt to express an opinion or criticism without doing the basic research to acquaint yourself with the facts?

The U.S. had more than ten times as many casualties in Vietnam compared to Iraq. From America’s perspective, Iraq is a minor squabble when compared to Vietnam, a war started by JFK and which destroyed the presidency of his successor and vice president LBJ.

Now you answer my question. Why can you declare Obama a superhero but not Kennedy? What is the difference? Why do you authorize yourself to dodge my questions while insisting I answer yours?

I already know how many US citizens have died in both Iraq and Vietnam. When did I say I didn’t know? And your figure is wrong. There have been now (as of this minute) 4109 US citizens killed in Iraq.

http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/

It’s funny you don’t mention how many Vietnamese people died (around 2-3 million) or how many Iraqis have lost their lives so far (1,225,898 as of this moment). How many of them were children? How many of them would not have died if the US had not ignored Iraq’s sovereignty and the UN? When I asked the question in my earlier post my point was that all war is bad. Comparing Vietnam to Iraq is a moot point, especially since Iraq is still going on. We have no idea how many more people are going to die for the Bush administration’s megalomania. Both wars are horrible.

Are the lives of the Iraqis not as precious as the lives of Americans? For you to call Iraq a minor squabble is one of the most horrendous things I’ve ever heard. How about you take a trip over there yourself and see how it’s going? Witness a few suicide bombing before you make a statement like that, please.

Also, I wasn’t alive when JFK was president, so I really don’t feel like I have an opinion on the man. I’m only 26. And, when I said Obama was a superhero, like Superman, I was joking. See, there’s this thing called humor in which some people (witty ones) make jokes. Look into it.

All American presidents try to be a superman at some point in their tenures. History suggests everyone tried to become one. Take for example the contemporary ones from Nixon, Charter, Regan, Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, Bush Jr. That picture could have suited even John McCain. BTW I have come across an interesting pic. Check it out.

Barack Obama will definitely go down in history as one of the greatest ever presidents to have served the country along the lines of Abraham Lincoln, FDR etc. He is a reasonably unknown quantity today that gives the rightist hawks to attack him even before he is officially elected and inaugurated. The the formalities be over in Jan 2009 and we shall see from then onwards.

Superman turned 70 recently. He is younger than John McCain who is expected to live only 13.1 more years after he turns 72 this August. I don't know what the Americans expect out of someone as dead as him.

Barack Obama at 46 is much more a likely to deliver the goods than a John McCain who is already on the way to the final exit. There is no way he can serve 8 years in office and an American president is expected to be so good that he should be good enough for not just one term but two terms as the great Bill Clinton and the greater George W. Bush had.

LoL... What an image! I wonder what kind of a president Obama would make if he indeed elected, and I am afraid he will be going by the current trend. Coming to the question of his credentials, though I don't think an American president needs any (Bush had absolutely no idea what foreign affairs was all about and went on to make some world changing policies), he being a Harvard educated lawyer, who understands various cultures and religions and who has been a senator in his first attempt promises many things. He doesn't have any prejudices as a former soldier McCain has, neither is a single track mind as conservatives generally are. I am mightily optimistic about him, and my relatives in the US are certainly going to vote for him.

Obama is the CHANGE that the Americans can believe in and so the world. He is the CHANGE that not only we are looking forward to, but the whole world. An US president with a dark skin, a Muslim middle name and above all, a liberal and not the sickly neocon. A CHANGE that will rid the American public perpetually shortchanged.

Obama is a very dangerous proposition for us. I am not saying he won't be this or that or not make a good or a great president. What I am trying to say is whether Americans can trust a man who has no proven track record of successfully administrating over a district, state, firm, organization, etc? America is too important a nation to afford such trial and error.

Tell me, what district did John McCain administer? What state? What organization?

For anyone who has never been president before, the presidency is at some level, a trial and error.

The good thing is that there are people behind the presidency who make sure that no matter who is there the ship of the nation stays afloat.

The tragedy with Obama is that despite having a very white past he chose to have an alliance with an extremist black religious figure. This confuses the shit out of me regarding the man. Besides, his wife's mindset is something that needs to be proved a little deeper than we are now. What kind of a man is Obama? To me, he appears to be a manipulator first class.

Does McCain have any idea what foreign affairs is all about? A man who spent over half a decade as a prisoner of war in Viet Nam and claims to have been brutally beaten and tortured while in captivity can have nothing but prejudices against some countries. He has already shown his lack of depth in diplomacy when speaking on Russia, Iran etc. This man is highly dangerous for world peace especially when he wants to do something spectacular before his death.
