Wow...The Sharapova no one knows. That Tennis Diva factor has to be stripped of her for sure. A lot of air-brushing always comes to her rescue. Anna Kournikova was he perfect babe on a tennis court if at all there is a need to talk about it here. Women tennis has suffered badly with the untimely exit of Hennin. A fabulous player like her could have easily kept the likes of Pova at bay. Sad really for women tennis.

Maria Sharapova posing in various degrees of undress is no news at all. Many celebrities do that or did that before, during or after their careers. What’s the big fuss?

The truth is that Maria Sharapova is already a tennis legend, and even today the world #1 woman tennis player. She is strikingly beautiful and one of the greatest attractions of the game. Someone who draws millions of viewers to the TV sets.

What’s so wrong that Maria Sharapova resides in the United States and trains there. Hundreds of athletes from the world over go there to train and make a living. The conditions and facilities are perfect for their overall development. Once the legendary Ivan Lendl said that he could never ever have reached where he eventually did if he stayed back in the East. Those were however the days of Cold War and like his idol Martina Navratilova became a U.S. naturalized citizen. I would like to know how many athletes post Cold War from the East has gone to become Western citizens? Living in another country doesn’t take away citizenship or national pride of a person.

Of course, the William sisters do have a penchant for fashion and glamour like many other tennis celebrities. Of course, their pretty faces and sexy bodies were marketed as Sharapova’s. Dear Readers:

My suspicion of Kim Zigfeld being an ugly transvestite is becoming stronger by the day. It is like a confused she-male not knowing which camp she belongs to finally getting the limp hag McCain’s cabal’s attention by bitching about Russia on the blogosphere without any shred of evidence or references to dependable sources. She has now found another target, this time the drop dead gorgeous and immensely talented tennis player Maria Sharapova.

The suggestion Kim tried to make by the second Sharapova picture is not missed. The point she missed unfortunately is that it only whips up the fantasies of straight men about talented females with killer looks.

The first and second pictures are mind boggling. Thanks Kim for those.

It is embarrassing for America not to be able to produce either good looking female tennis players or world beating tennis players. The show is stolen by Russian players on both the fronts.

There are 4 Russians in the top 10 in women’s singles rankings and all of them are extremely hot and sexy like Elena Dementieva (see pic). It just happens that Maria Sharapova is the sexiest of them all and the best of them all. If she wasn’t then Kim’s article would have the same with just the name changed.

Women do wear make up. I am sure in some point of your life you did too if not every day. Why? To create illusions or to look good? Take any word of your choice. And there are times when women don’t wear make up. Even then they are seen by people.

Coming to her World No.1 ranking and her 22 WTA titles of which 19 are Singles titles, I am sure they were not fixed by the WTA. I, as many others, believe that she won them because of her tennis playing talents and the efforts she made on the tennis courts.

Also please don’t say that sports are glamour are not married to each other.

Lindsay Davenport was a former world number one player just as Maria Sharapova is going to be when the new rankings are out after the ongoing French Open. Despite Lindsay is a much senior player who finished 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2005 as the top ranked player she has won 3 Grand Slam titles just as Maria Sharapova, 11 years her junior has.

My point is that during the height of Lindsay Davenport’s career she was as good and highly ranked as Maria Sharapova. But how many people she could draw to the tennis stadiums or how many people could she make watch her play on television then as compared to Maria Sharapova now? The answer is ‘no comparison at all’. The reason behind this is the glamor factor and showmanship.

It is therefore important that for tennis to draw crowds it needs characters like Sabatini, Graf, Kournikova, Sharapova, Sania Mirza even if some of them are/were just mediocre players. It is critical for the survival of tennis.

It is a bit too much to call Maria a ’Toxin’. Someone’s dressing reflects a nations crime rate? How insane is that for a logic! While I myself feel Henin is a fine player it is funny how you call Maria’s brand of tennis lackluster and devoid of skill while hail the Williams sisters. If anything they are the ones who brought in the power game and made it a slug fest taking out the subtle changes of pace and angle. That is just to mention a few things. I hope you heard of the saying that ’we make our own luck’ and so did she. She is not the best but not as bad as you put it.

every match that maria sharapova played and won titles were great. maria sharapova might have won 193 matches lesser than justin henin. but when justin henin was in the pro circuit sharapova was a prepubescent girl. one plays around 100 matches a year and at times more in the WTA if fully fit.

you are really pathetic because you do not have any backup of what you said. unless you are going to die before sharapova retires you would know who have eventually ended up as a better player.
